Sonetimes u have to sell and admit you are wrong. When you are wrong- be wrong quick and be wrong small. I never let my losses get big, i keep them manageable. Big losses almost always beget more losses. Its human nature to want to recoup a loss quickly and more importantly, regain your confidence. This commonly results in reckless trading. Be methodical and take the small loss but there is also a fine line between taking a loss and selling too quickly. That is where the “ x factor” of trader intuition comes into play. Avoid the “ it just has to work” method of a trade. Hope and logic doesn’t work. Also know how and why certain sectors are moving and know which stocks are in that sector. Near the open, not at the open, i jumped into Mosaic ( MOS ). Why ??? We had bad inflation numbers today and yields went up. Plus Kroger ( KR ) had great earnings. Mos is a fertilizer play amd usually works well as an inflation play and also i comjunction with a strong reaction to a company like Kroger ( KR ). I have hundreds of stocks in my head and I knkw what each if then does.
%% THAT's about the worst thing one can do, try to recover a loss quick; with a loss\ an attempt to increase speed or size= counterproductive. Certain planned exceptions may apply. EVEN when qqq had a 2 month bottoms in bear of 2000-2001 that was not the bottom @ all. MOS= good trender from waaaay back. Sell may not tell us if that was an entry or exit. Looks like SPY may close above 200dma with 25 minutes to close. NOT a prediction+ not insured by any federal agency
You are correct.. Too many traders are oblivious to quickly adapting to different sectors and the stocks in those sectors.. A trader should know various sectors and the stocks in each sector.
Why is “ Sell” a four letter word ? -Because it is!! Just like "Make", "Nice", "Love", "Back", "Yard", "Here"...
The genius of "Why is....?" is similar to being able to repeat line of "Person, woman, man, camera, TV" and thinking you are the greatest for doing so.
Why is “ Sell” a four letter word ? ---> Why sometimes you press SELL first then BUY, sometimes you press BUY first then SELL, sometimes you cannot press anything?
