Why I love America, from a Ukrainian

I am an American Ukrainian based in England.

America's strong support of Ukraine against the Russian occupation is one of many reasons why I love the USA.

The USA is what freedom is about. The USA is the only country which defends minority rights in places like Kosovo and Syria.

The USA has saved millions of people from Russian-backed Al-Quaeda terrorists. The USA is currently helping Ukraine fight Russian terrorists who are occupying my country.

Russia must and will be brought to its knees. It is an evil empire, which starts wars around the world and seeks to murder people in order to steal their resources.

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of support for russia in crimea.

But i don't know much about ukraine. Was the democratic election in ukraine that put the russia supporting guy in power fair enough that we can say the russian guy really won and he has now been unconstitutionally deposed? Or was it probably a sham all along and the anti russian people really had a greater percentage all along and got screwed?

 

This is the same ass hat who kept starting the threads that we should nuke Iran, the "God bless USA and our greatest ally Israel" asshat.

 

This is about energy, pure and simple. The West started this spark to overthrow the current government in hopes that Crimea would offer an alternative route of natural gas for the Ukraine and Europe, so that they could give Gazprom some competition and not have to worry about the Russians shutting off the flow of nat gas to Europe. The west figured that, if it could secure the Ukraine, it could establish a flow of gas from Turkey to the south (by way of partners in the middle east). You will recall the floundering the West had on Syria - which was part of the plan to get a competing pipeline.

When Yanukovych basically told the west to go pound salt on this idea (with Russian guidance, of course), the West knew it had to stage a coup. Russia knew the west was behind the push to overthrow Yanukovych, and chose to act to secure Crimea. Make no mistake, the port there was a key strategic asset for Russia. But this is about energy at the end of the day.
