Why did Americans allow a Dictator to run its Trade Policy ?

Are there not any sane people out there in the US to oppose this insane man ? Worst aspect of this are all the Republicans in Senate/Congress just letting it all happen. When do you cry Uncle ? The world awaits and threatening another 50% tariff on China is not the answer. Trump operates like a Mob Boss. The rest of the world isn't going to pay him a protection fee.

the tariffs will create a level playing field by increasing equity and moving global commerce in a more diverse and inclusive direction.
