1) Hate Speech is protected under the 1st Amendment. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that non-governmental (i.e. private) entities cannot ban it. But, frankly, I think that is a bad idea, as I describe below. 2) Most people are reasonable. Banning hate speech removes the possibility of confronting the hater and possibly persuading the hater to reconsider their position. This is probably the most important reason to allow "hate speech". Perhaps more reasonable people could persuade the hater to "not hate". This is not possible if the speech is banned outright. The hater continues to hate, no-one is better for it.
