Its 2016, technology has come a long way... Does anyone mostly trade from their phone? How successful have you been doing this? It seems like it may actually be doable - although perhaps not for day trading.
If you run an algorithm on co-location it wouldn't really matter what you control it with. I know people that check their algo's and trades on their phone, works fine. For manual trading when you need lower latency it's no good IMO...
Read a short article on this recently. It's more common than you think. Not just in North America, but also in Asia. Depending on your broker, you can pretty much do it all and with excellent security features, mostly with your iPhone, though Android is getting there.
I'm rather old school, I like my Windows computer/laptop. -- I don't have a smartphone. I would never trade from a phone or tablet--I need a full screen and mouse.
Lenovo Yoga tablets are ideal for trading . you can hold them in hand while walking and use anypen technology in them . i can plot my charts with my car's key while i'm walking .it supports 4G internet too .
My favorite way of phone trading is using an app like teamviewer or realvnc that remote connects to my desktop where the trading software resides. This is much better than having a native app on your phone as it doesnt sacrifice features and you essentially can navigate a multiscreen pc with ease. Nothing wrong with trading this way while on vacation or when you need to step out. You just have to practise navigating the desktop as you can fat finger easily if you suck at being precise.
patience is mandatory for trading and meanwhile a trader should do something to kill time.it can be reading posts on ET as well as a vacation
