I'm trying to understand BRK.A ripping to the upside this quarter. If you google "berkshire main holdings", this is what google says: Noteworthy is that Apple is nearly 50% of his portfolio. But let's go through his charts (AAPL, BAC, KO, AXP, KHC) and compare to BRK.A. I will post weekly charts here of his five main holdings (above). And hopefully someone can explain why BRK is ripping when his holdings are generally falling and going in the opposite direction, lol.
If half his portfolio is in AAPL and AAPL is ripping higher, then it is no wonder that BRK.A is ripping higher as well. Why is this so hard to understand? Of the 5 holdings you posted charts of, KHC is the only one under-performing, and looks flatish. The other 4 are ripping higher. Yes?
BRKA is up 15% this quarter whereas AAPL (half his portfolio) is down 10%! I guess he must own a good amount of OXY or CVX perhaps. AXP is up 10% for the quarter, so I guess that must be helping as well.
