Which software to use for creating such Chart Snapshots?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by happy1001, Jul 8, 2015.

  1. Please have a look at the attached snapshots. I want to know which software would help in making such detailed snapshots in an efficient manner. All this could be done inside MS Paint as well, by drawing each single price candlestick bar with hand and then arranging them one by one, but that will take huge amount of time and effort. I am looking for some tool which could help in doing this easily.

Something that will help in –

    - Preparing the individual price bars / candlesticks like Doji, Hammer and Hanging Man etc. by changing the size of candlesticks accordingly.

    - Arranging those individual price bars / candlesticks in different formations to express different chart patterns like – Head and Shoulders, Double Bottom and Top,

    - Writing notes and comments on those patterns in the same snapshot

Please note that I do not have to arrange the price bars in the exact same patterns that are available on the internet, otherwise I would have copied them from some site. But instead I want to use this tool to express my own trading ideas in a visual manner.

Please suggest any tools that you are aware of, which can help in creating such charts.

    Thanks for any help

    Chrome extension "search by image"

Right click on image, search, displays These results

Pretty much any decent screen capture program could create/duplicate this bloggers drawings.

I prefer FastStone, it has served we well for years... There probably are better programs available, but, I see no need to change. Long past that stage...

You would be better served asking the blogger himself what he used to create the drawings.

Remember, Google is your friend. A little googling goes a long way...

You'll probably want a vector graphics program like Inkscape.

I make images exactly like this via the program called Snagit. Each one of those images you posted each actually contain smaller images "embedded" within a larger image.

Its a lot of work but you'll quickly get use to it.

There's other programs out there but I prefer Snagit because there's some things that I need to do with Snagit that can't do with others.

  5. Thank you so much for the idea harami. That looks like a great tool for drawing these.

  6. Thank you NoBias for the wonderful tip. This extension is really good for finding out the source of such drawings.

  7. Thanks for your reply wrbtrader. I myself use Snagit and I am a big fan of it. But as you said it will be a lot of work to prepare these within snagit, therefor I was looking for other options.
