    "Rain makes grain."
Corn ... July rain is most important to yield.
Soybeans ... July/August rain is most important to yield.
A dry planting season can still produce a large crop.
Harvest isn't a factor often unless strong winds or early frost. Early snow can push partial corn harvest to spring but that's pretty rare and the corn usually gets harvested.
***South America has different seasons so different planting/harvesting dates.

I asked my colleague John Thorpe to share from his experience as a former floor broker on the CBOT:
Global crops are affected by global weather patterns all 12 months of the year, as of late the presence or lack of fertilizer has also had an impact. From the producers perspective "There's nary a time of year, where there's nary a concern". One event at any time of the year will re align a producers focus and energy. Ag markets tend to discount the NOAA 6-10 Temp and Precip outlook during all 4 seasons., if the forecasts are wrong the market reacts, and creates the volatility in prices. Also, it benefits traders to understand Supply and Demand characteristics and their seasonality.
