Which is more significant? Trend line or support/resistance

  1. Which is a more significant event in technical analysis? Breaking of sloping trendline or horizontal support/resistance line?

    Simply, backtest both to determine which performs the best with your trade signal strategy.

    Whatever price is doing - determines which is more significant = always.., and period

  8. Trading is a rather complex thing...that's it's nearly impossible to give a black or white answer.
    A trader should be able to answer his or her own questions, inevitably...all in due time ;)o_O

    Support/Resistance comes in many forms. Among them are prior pivots, moving averages, Fibonacci clusters, Gann square-outs, Elliot wave structure, volatility bands and .....trend lines. Every market has it's own personality and you need to determine how and what it reacts to and develop and test a trade plan based on those observations.
