Considering Google Nest, but heard from very negative reviews on its iOS app despite good on Android app. One for use at main entrance, not looking for anything fancy as long as it works fine and reliable, realtime and playback.
I have several Ring cameras (outside) connected with the security system. Works well for me and doesn't cost much. Cameras are security light style. I just replaced some existing motion security lights with them.
When I'm looking for a product or service and can't decide, I just do a Google search for reviews on it. My go-to search string would be (in your case for example) "best home security camera reviews {current year}". So put 2023 in there obviously. That will pull up a bunch of resources with user reviews on the first page, and that should give you plenty of material to review. From that you can develop a consensus on which package best works for your situation.
Just as a note... passive security camera systems are less likely to prevent intrusion into your home. Camera systems (at night) that turn on lights. Camera systems and door bells that make noise (whistle, etc.) or speak when they sense motion are much more effective than security cameras that merely record.
We ended up installing a smart alarm system. I should say, the verisure customer service manager persuaded me to choose exactly them. Maybe it was just good marketing, but we are pleased with the purchase and I noticed that I feel safer at home now.
