I have been looking at the 10-q and all that it mentions is the common stock outstanding. Im pretty sure that isnt the float so Im just curious if anyone else has knowledge on where to look to find the float. Thank you
It can show how volatile a stock can be in a given trading day . The lower the float the more volatile it is
Where did you get that idea? It's not correct at all... unless you're considering a large position in a very thinly traded issue.... which you should NOT be considering unless you're a big-time gambler. Otherwise, the float is meaningless.
Can't you get a sense of that just from looking at the price chart... big swings, day-to-day? (Even at that, likely has nothing to do with the float.) Here's the Big Picture... 1. Authorized Issue... number of shares authorized by corporate charter 2. Issued Shares... number of shares out in the public including insiders and restricted 3. Float... Issued shares minus shares held by insiders (which usually do not trade) plus restricted shares. 4. Handle... daily number of shares traded on recent average Only the Handel is even remotely possible to affect your trades.. and that's only if you make a very large trade in a thinly traded issue. IOW... "FLOAT"? Fuggetaboutit! 99.99999999% against the float ever having an impact in any trade you make.
but finviz is somewhat outdated. so thats why i wanted to check a more reliable source like current sec filings
Going through threads here and just want to say this guy is full of shit. Float can be important if you understand it ...
