Where do you find M&A names?

Without access to commercial databases like Bloomberg, Reuters, Mergermarket, etc, are there any free sources to find a list of US names involved in merger deals? I am referring to a convenient point of summarized data without checking or scraping and then tallying the 8K filings.

We do this analysis manually because we want to avoid M&A stocks in our options scans. A target stock has an IV much lower than it should be and our scanner finds these. Actually, that is how we start our search, by looking at implied volatility levels that are way below what they should be.
There are sites with dedicated M&A sections like Reuters, Seeking Alpha, CNBC and there are specialized trackers like StreetInsider’s deal list and Inside Arbitrage’s updates.
Let me know if you want more info on these sites.

You can use implied volatility to filter them out.

Yahoo provides M&A names in their events section.

    that’s what matt was saying.

I added a field and manually took them out (along with biotechs, etc)
