I opened up several online brokerages to try to trade VXT contacts (VIX trade at settlement futures) but even the biggest brokerages don't seem to support or list them. The request processes to get these contacts seem very manual and not permanent, so I was wondering if there were brokerages that currently support VXT contracts. Thanks.
TAS are traded as blocks and have to satisfy certain requirements that make them hard for retail-oriented brokerages. Almost any bigger prime broker will be able to accommodate you, though.
As an alternative, you could trade XIV/VXX which are ultra (3X) ETFs (actually may be an ETN, but who cares). Even with a small amount of leverage, you get a lot of kick with excellent liquidity. Best part these are traded with any stock broker.
Out of curiosity, what brokerages have you tried? RJOF and advantage offer the vxt chains to their retail customers but only the outrights ever see any volume, and even that is mostly the front roll. No need for blocks, you can trade as small as 1 lot. Attached is the CQG RJOF Feed for vxt.
