When it rains it's a tax in New Jersey.

Saw that a few days ago. Pretty funny.

Maybe New Jersey should move to a warmer climate, where they don't have to salt the roads, so all the wimpy green faggots who want their windfarms can stop slipping and sliding on the snow-covered roads in their gas-guzzling 4WD SUVs.

FREE ENERGY! (Oh, but NIMBY! FREE WILLY)

Its not just NJ. A few other states do it too. All pushed through by democrats.

Quite a few localities in VA have a "rain tax". Roanoke and Richmond to name two. It's part of your public utility bill and is based on the amount of impervious surface area. It's called a "Stormwater Runoff Fee".

The city of Durham North Carolina has a similar tax.

To set the stage... Durham county and the city of Durham combined already have the highest property tax rates in our state. The local Durham city government wastes an extraordinary of money on left-wing agenda items such as low income housing (let's build more slums), stopping gentrification via zoning (let's keep everything a slum), making buses green (the new buses failed to run), and many additional items while still having the worst trash service in the Triangle area.

The city of Durham requested an increase in the property tax rate. The state legislature stated their tax rate was obscene already and rejected their request.

So what did the city of Durham do --- they implemented a fee on non-permeable surface ("rain tax") for every property as a back-door property tax to bypass the legislature. On some properties this fee is greater than the property tax.

  7. I remember back when Christie was running in the primary or maybe a little before- can't remember- N.J. got walloped with a big snowstorm and Christie asked for federal emergency funds.

All the other states nearby and up through New England got walloped too and were saying "WTF. It snows in the winter bigtime. That's like how it is in the winter. Take care of it for gawd-sake. It's what states do." Major power gird outages and storm damage are one thing, but just snow removal- ahh. no. Do some work and pay for it yourself.

Bunch of scammers. Dems, pubs. does not matter. It's what they do.

Notice that I did not even mention Bob Menendez, scammer extraordinaire. He is not worried about cold winters in NJ. He has little medicare-funded regular getaways to the Caribbean to have sex with "young women."
