What were some strategies that worked in the past but no longer work well today?

  1. It is rude to ask a successful trader what are some of his trading strategies that work well for him. It is like asking him for his patent secrets. However, it should be fine asking what worked in the past but no longer works today for learning purposes.

James Simons shared once that trend-following worked well in the 1970s but no longer work as well today. Can't find that youtube video when he said that now.

For the elite traders here, what were some strategies that worked well in the past for you but no longer work so well today?

Had an excellent pork belly spread that worked twice a year, CME no longer trades it.

Often times stats stop cause technology changes or exchanges changes the rules or makes new ones.

If you seeking a new direction, what was problem with what you developed?

I think most who have changed methods most likely not give you older methods cause parts of what we doing now can certainly have parts we don't want others to have in older. You evolve to redefine section s or parts.

Think you need to put in the time and HELP yourself. Reading 15 years ago in ET good start .

The RAES bandits (inverted option NBBO) back in 2000. 100s of millions made across (likely) less than 100 traders.
