What were futures commision like ten years ago? It plays a big part on my algo strategy

  1. Like CL, NQ, ES

    Were they lower?
    Or were they higher?

if they get lower lower, is it because of competition among brokers?

Do the exchange fees from the CME get higher or lower?

Or are the exchange/commission fees proportional to the change in price of futures tickers?

    Thank you guys

Forget about any algo if you don't understand the basics.

Even basics from the recent past.

And absolutely if you are using anything but tick level data to develop algo.

I've used Tom DeMark indicators for a long time now that I believe are only available nowadays through the Bloomberg terminal.

Don't have the exact stats, but from memory, the exchange fees (which make up the largest portion of the commission) went up quite significantly over the last decade, especially after CME went public and bought NYMEX, CBOT and other exchanges. Thery're practically a monopoly.

  8. how do you handle fakeout, do you go back in the trade after it goes back or set a stop loss under and never look back
