I used to spend days and nights searching for accounts to follow. But I am back to zero and can't remember even one account worth my attention. What accounts out there are interesting for traders ? Especially for someone trading the ES future ? I don't expect it to be my edge, But it's to know what's in play. Used to follow @ FastFT And read their FirstFT, Fast "Session" Open. @ RANsquawk too..
On twitter, did you take a look at those that @FastFT and @Ransquawk are following ? Yet, it seems very strange you were following the above two if you're trading the Emini ES futures because RANsquawk mainly only talks about stocks and FastFT is like a news source that seems to cover anything and everything occurring in the world. Maybe you should get more focus on your own via using something like tweetdeck so that you can remove most of the noise on twitter and then use real-time streaming of key words of your choice for Emini ES futures. For example, maybe you're into news alerts considering you were following FastFT. You can then tag Emini ES with the key words "breaking news" or something like that to see what user (Emini ES trader) has posted a message with those key words in their message post. Another example, lets pretend you're into the key words "MACD indicator" and you can then see any real-time comments by any Emini ES trader that has posted a message with the words MACD indicator in the message post. Another example because @fastFT is out of Europe...maybe you have a strong interest in European news and you can setup key words for specific types of news that you're interested in knowing about while you're trading the Emini ES futures. You can even setup multiple columns of key word searches. Next, you then review their message post history to determine if they are worthwhile to add to your follow list. In addition, I recommend you also use stocktwits with your twitter use and they have a suggested list to help you get started until you find your own user names to follow. You can then take a closer look at the following list of those users you're looking at because the user may seem interesting at first but you may find others that's more interesting that the user was following. You can also just follow the Emini ES traders as a group on stocktwits considering they don't make a ton of message posts each day. In comparison, trying to do the same on twitter without something like tweetdeck...anything useful will be lost in all that junk or noise that's own twitter. Essentially, twitter becomes useless without a real-time filter like tweetdeck. Good luck.
Tweetdeck is fine if you're on a normal browser but what about an iPhone or Android app? Twitter discontinued support for the old API that enabled tweetdeck in the first place so I wouldn't be surprised to see browser tweetdeck disappear too.
Yeah, it use to be a stand alone software when stocktwits and twitter were partners. Actually, I believe it use to be a product of stocktwits or stocktwits did the promotion of tweetdeck until they and twitter went separate ways. Then twitter killed the API use for iPhone and Android. In fact, its no longer a download on Google Play but just Chrome Google. It was a great stand alone product and a cool android product until twitter made browser base only. I do know a lot of traders then moved to Hootsuite after twitter killed the stand alone program of tweetdeck. Hootsuite is available on iOS and Android too...they do have those cool search streams but I can't remember what's the refresh rate. That told me that a lot of traders wanted to be mobile and wanted to stay inform about the markets via the opinions and news by others that they value. Hootsuite other useful features but they are not free. Anyways, there's other programs other their that track twitter via key words in real time so that you don't have to try to do such manually on twitter itself...walking through all that noise.
these 2 guys are very accurate with their TA calls http://stocktwits.com/TheFibDoctor?q=TheFibDoctor http://stocktwits.com/SiliconValleyTrader?q=SiliconValleyTrader
Hi @K-Pia. I follow a big list of traders on Twitter and one of the best is @MrTopStep. He's the real deal. There are several others of note. Go to my account, @patrickrooney, and look at the lists section. You can subscribe to lists other people have created that way.
I've just read an interview of MrTopStep by Trading Technology. Nice interview. So I checked his feed but I didn't follow. I'll glance over your network =P Thanks to all of you !
