They have wrangling over what to do with the Confederate monument outside the courthouse in Gastonia, North Carolina. Even a lawsuit from the NAACP has been filed to remove the monument. The statue hit roadblocks in being moved earlier this year. Well... .one local man proposed a solution --- just change the plaque on the monument to say it honors Colonel William Campbell who won the Battle of Kings Mountain in the Revolutionary War. Magically it is now a Revolutionary War monument rather than a Civil War monument... and nobody will want to tear it down. Well -- the local Gastonia man said this "tongue in cheek" on the news... the funny part is that some local politicians took him seriously.
What people need to understand is that the Revolutionary War was one of White Expansionism and the displacement of Native Americans. Tear it down.
Robert E Lee should have been melted down.Shame on Lincoln for letting all those evil traitors go free.
Only in America do we build statues for traitors who commit treason.... forget about slavery.. the man lead the rebel army to attack and overthrow the federal government.... This is why the South continues the sterotype of being stupid.
