Both of these ETF's continue to trade after the market close for an additional 15 mins. How does that work?
You know the futures trade 23 hours/day, right? "Hope and Fear" after hours... just like the rest of the time. The ETFs are in on that as well during exchange "extended hours".
%% IT's more like moves, hours in after hours; much of it noise + not much volume or price. MOST of my charts have after hours[plural] price; but not much volume. I do have some QQQ bear charts with amazing after hours volume , one day in 5\ but qqq was $3o area\2002 MAY bear. So if QQQ gets to $30, again, may not wait 'til after hours to buy a bit\LOL. Good question
What moves QQQ and SPY afterhours? The same thing....that moves those things during normal, day, hours -- People buying and selling, placing their bets accordingly. If you're asking how to predict the future of the chart line movement...well, that's the billion dollar question everyone wishes to know.
SPY trades pretty much 24/5 via Virtu for retail. TD is a big customer, but any retail desk can work routing relationship. As long as they have a trading future, it's Hedgeable with a generous spread.
%% Radio talk show Bill Cunningham seldom mentions it\ but Sunday night about midnight , he says something like S&P futures down about 2 %. Then He has a\ Las Vegas\ financial planner on a few minutes later; who says bonds are like pissing in your pants , a warm feeling @ first\ then it gets real cold later........
