Feel free to post your "normal" profession, be it past or present.

Please be specific - tradesman is not sufficient if you work/ed with your hands.

I will kick off, of course.

I do my own house wiring as well. Sometimes I use the charts , sometimes I have an opinion as to which wire is hot.

Nothing wrong with pulling wires and bending conduit - been there and done that, many moons ago:D

It will be interesting to see the different thought processes from the different professions - I hope most are not ashamed, or too shy, to post what they actually do!

    IT professional

I started as developer but am now in IT Operations as liason with the business side.

Tend to focus on logic in the markets that can be exploited by autotrading (daily tf). Started with the newbie way of curve fitting. Have gotten better at curve fitting after 6 glorious years of non-profitability! :p

OMG, I have had several Professions, many of them overlapping as I am hyper, don't sleep much. Laborer on Construction sites, Bricklayer, Military-Food Inspection, Government 17yrs, during that time learned Day and Long trading and also started businesses in home repair biz, shopping cart repairman/clearer biz, repaired window chips biz, semi truck washer biz, home windows biz, heating/cooling biz, truck advertising biz, vending machines biz, pooper scooper biz, laundromats, house rentals, assisted living units, trainer/trucker-over million safe miles, broker, charting consultant, almost everything I have done, always taught others how to do as I was taught growing up. All businesses I started eventually hired others to perform. Unlike many who will stay with same for life as I see this as boring, I stay with something till it gets to be like a job then go do something else, never been married to any employment or business. And each Business I have started, all were started before I go into them with detailed Business Plans which was learned cause of trading, always better to prepare two years before than dive in which costs unlimited monies.

Operations is such a nice word - many years ago, for me, it meant pulling in big copper cables, the size of an elephant's dick, and with a JCB on one end, pulling the fukin thing with a big steel condom stretched over the tip of the big yoke:D

After a few years of apprenticeship, I decided to go an easier route, as I had to save my back:rolleyes:

I know some IT guys who are brilliant at typing, but thick as 2 planks when it comes to digging a hole, especially when trying to get out of one:D
