    Hi guys,

I trade stocks occasionally. Recently I invested in various bonds and mutual funds. I can live on my investment income alone.

What job title would be appropriate for me? Investor? Definitely not an angel investor.

    Titles are meaningless.
What matters is what kind of person you are and what kind of bankroll you have.

    Call yourself whatever.
    It doesn’t change what matters.

  3. I agree -- Titles are for tools, and brown nosers, and insecure one's...people who are obsessed with titles, are most likely tools.

But to answer his question, I would suppose you call yourself...Retired/an Investor.

On a new account application, from just your description, I would write retired Investor. What did you do before to save enough money to get to this point?

  5. Many applications require job title, if you use retired you're in the same category as seniors. I use private fund manager or management consultant, a previous title. According to my cpa, income taxes are compared to others in the same category for expenses.

I still manage websites and social media and sell advertising spaces. Now I invest, so I was wondering what title was suitable for this activity.

  8. If you're doing well: investor.
If you're not doing well: market philanthropist.
