Is that the Aerocar? What a POS. Nope, that ain't gonna' cut it. This is one I had hoped would gain traction, but it's dead in the water, after 10+ years. Dude, we're never going to have flying cars.
I agree, and to be honest as much as I love flying, I think flying cars are a real bad idea. Enough morons on the road as it is, now give them the chance to have a flying car? Bad idea
It would need to be automatized by a local air traffic control system, ie. each flying car would need a transponder-like device, and the system would control (guide) the traffic flow. The driver (better said passenger) only gives his destination into the on-board computer (usually via his/her smartphone), and maybe optionally whether he/she wants hi-speed, or normal speed, or slow sightseeing speed... Then he/she can go sleeping... Nothing else to do for him/her...
Humans self-realizing their purpose as stewards more-so than conquerors. Empathy and compassion are probability in the mix as well.
Humans are born conquerors You have to imagine what will happen when mankind gets something like the warp drive (or jump drive / hyperdrive) to reach other habitable planets... Then labor (worker) shortages will be there for colonizing other planets, as well shortages in Earth-animals as well pets to bring them to the new planets... A wild wild west in space
If anything like warp drive or hyperdrive were physically possible, we would already have had contact with other civilizations because they would have come here with said tech. Likewise, the same thing goes for time travel. If time travel were possible, we would already know about it, because people a billion years in the future would have been here already and said "hi". Nope, sorry, we are all going to die alone on this little blue ball.
