What is a "dope sheet?" Forgive my ignorance, but I stumbled across this term in the book Reminiscenses of a Stock Operator [1], and I don't know what it is. Per generally accepted Internet forum etiquette, I Googled around before posting, but the closest I could find was a horse betting definition. Thanks, Keith https://books.google.com/books?id=IztRCAAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false
"dope sheets" are printed pages of past performance such as the Daily Racing Form. The references on that page of the book are to horse racing. Livermore used past performance and stock price habits as his guide.
This version of the book, has running commentary/annotations and background on the stuff/people mentioned in passing: www.amazon.co.uk/Reminiscences-Stock-Operator-Edwin-Lef%C3%A8vre/dp/0470481595
Its ok, oraclewizard77. No need to feel ashamed. Anyone with any humility can look back at their past and find one instance where they behaved like a dope.
