What happened to GAIN CAPITAL?

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by Expo, Dec 17, 2021.

  2. I think the numbers from September might include their Forex customers assets.

The new data seem to be Futures business only now.

Maybe they separated the two parts somehow, or had to correct the way it is displayed with the CFTC.

    About 2 month ago:

    Dear Valued Customer,

As you are aware, your futures account is currently held at GAIN Capital Group, LLC as your futures commission merchant (FCM). On July 31, 2020, StoneX Group Inc. (StoneX) finalized the acquisition of GAIN Capital Holdings, Inc. (GCAP) and its subsidiaries, which included the GAIN Capital Group, LLC (GAIN Futures). As StoneX and GCAP work towards full integration of their subsidiaries, one of the processes will be to transfer all futures customer accounts of GAIN Futures, including yours, to StoneX Financial Inc. (SFI). SFI is a registered Futures Commission Merchant with the National Futures Association.

Effective the close of business October 1, 2021, your account at GAIN Futures will be transferred to SFI. This change should be seamless to your trading.

    What will not change:
    • Your User Name and Password to the current trading platform and MyAccount portal will not change.
    • Your current broker and all contact information will remain the same.

    What will change:
    • Previously your account number was a 6 digit alpha numeric number with an E or a G in front of the 5 numerical digits. Your new account number will consist of the same exact 5 numerical digits but will be preceded by your office code.
o As an example if your office code is XXX and your current account number is E12345, your new account number will be XXX12345
    • Due to a change in the vendor that processes the statements, your statement will look slightly different.
    • You will need to update banking wire and ACH Instructions when sending funds to StoneX effective October 4, 2021. Any funds sent to the old GAIN banking instructions will be returned.
    StoneX Wire Instructions

    • For more information on StoneX Group Inc. (the ultimate parent company) - StoneX FACT SHEET

If you consent to this transfer, there is no action required on your part.

If you do not consent to this change, you have the following options and you must notify us of your intent by emailing the contact person listed below by September 27, 2021.

    • Request for your account to be transferred to another Futures Commission Merchant
    • Liquidate your account and return your fund.

GAIN CAPITAL has been down since this week's Opening.

    Probably the
Gain Capital Asian staff are still sleeping, or
they are unable to fix the problem,
or no one contacted Gain Capital Helpdesk,
or the Asian staff waiting for the European staff to fix the problem.

Luckily I have a backup trading platform.
So I don't have to call the help desk.
I always avoid contacting the help desk unless it is a life-and-death situation.

    That is strange ....
Even the Stone X / Gain Capital European staff didn't get it up.

Is StoneX / Gain Capital closing down?
