How much % per month or year do you aspire to gain from Forex trading?

And if applicable, how much % did you achieve in the past?

 

I would like to aim for the FTMO challenge so 10% per month. Whether I do or not is another question!

Percentages to achieve puts too much stress, there are drawdowns per instrument, sector, new presidents or leaders, use the term vaguely.

It best to learn to be consistent then huge profit one month then force to do again next month.

 

Aspiring traders should have ZERO P/L expectations beyond preserving capital.

The only things that matter are getting better at reading the plays and better at discipline.

Do that and the money will take care of itself. (Conversely, "don't do that"... and you will never make anything.)

Expectations can cause pressure on your decision making skills or can cause limiting beliefs

The best is to trade your plan till the end of the month. Make sure you're not hitting daily drawdown and as long as you have a good risk management and you trade your plan, You are winning.

 

3% per month is a realistic and doable figure for me.

I aim for a consistent return of 3-5% per month, which is realistic with proper risk management. Over the year, my target would be 36-60%. In the past, I achieved around 20-30% annual return, but I focused on sustainable growth rather than high-risk, high-reward trades.
