What are your favorite low risk strategies to use?

  1. Ideally to carry through a period, e.g. in between quarters, with a high sharpe ratio. Tempted to sell and/or cover everything I'm in now and just sit for the rest of the quarter. Come forth with your ideas, elite traders.

    Buy stocks that are going up.
    Sell them when they stop going up.
    Don't hold losers in your portfolio.

    When the markets are intercorrelated / moving in tandem,

    that is where I will trade in huge quantity.

  5. Good Morning longandshort,

    My favorite low risk strategy is to simply buy the SP500 index twice a month.

    If you can't beat them, might as well join them.

    Cash+ money market are less risk;
    but since we get paid to take wise risks.................
    I seldom buy much metals\ but sell stuff like that all the time; even though the stuff that rusts has a bit more long term risk\ not much LOL:D:D
    NO/ on the'' just sitting ''in any sense of the word;
    I do hand work+ get up even if not buys or sells .....................
    I would like to buy more SPXL SPY[some do VOO]+ or UPRO;
    but it takes a real good, good trend to do that spxl :caution::caution:
    Good month, in hindsight for SPY+ TQQQ /spxl, not suitable for all investors.

    :rolleyes: Brilliant! Maybe you should add, "sell at the top and buy at the bottom."

    With that system you never get to do that.
    But over the long run and for that matter of fact the short run, you have a low risk strategy that makes money.

    I was being facetious, sorry. What you suggest was what William O'Neil promoted and is more difficult to succeed at than it might seem to a neophyte.
