What are the chances and possible timing of a China crackdown in HK and how can we trade it?

Might be the reason the Hang Seng is down already since the riots started.
China "crackdown" probably not a shock if it happens so muted market reaction? HSI.png

  3. This is why you want armed militias ready to counter the government. Anyone who tells you about bump stocks and bullshit is their own worst enemy.

Spoken like someone who has no fucking clue what a squad of Marines with a SAW could do to any number of survivalist gun freaks, let alone a full infantry division with close air support. I've got news for you my friend, it's not a bunch of rambo wannabies compensating for their small dicks with their bump stocks that is keeping us a democracy in the U.S.

To the actual topic at hand, the Hang Seng is down but do you think that's were it would be if China pulled another Tiananmen on HK? Seems like there's still a lot of downside there?

  7. Don't switch the topic so easily. The point of a militia is not to win. It's to provide a counter balance that is considered in all decisions. But dumbasses like you only think in black and white.

Like I said, if a fraction of one percent of our military can keep the small dick brigade at bay with one hand tied behind their back, they're not figuring in the calculus of how the country is run. You all are living in la la land to think that literally anyone makes decisions based on any regard to you all coming out with pea shooters and changing the course of history. Don't forget your tiki torches while you're at it. Nuanced thinking would be having an understanding of how the folks who serve think about "militias", something I think I've got a pretty good handle on from my 20+ years of service. What about your time in makes you think differently? Nuance is having (not really willingly I admit) had to study every insurgency in the last 150 years and spend hours discussing them as part of senior service school. Did you have any particular examples that are informing your thoughts in the significant time you've spent rigorously looking at this topic? No? You're just one of the small dick brigade shooting you mouth off with bullshit about "black and white thinking" on a subject you in reality know fuck all about? Yeah, we can all see that, no response required.

Not to mention, you clearly haven't the faintest idea what the concept of "switching the topic" means. Why don't you be a big boy and read the thread from the top.

  9. So much anger. No wonder you talk about dick size all the time.

Besides... With all your studying of insurgencies, why is the US in peace talks with the insurgents everywhere? Thought you should be able to win a nearly 20 fucking year war, no?

Before this whole "militia uprising" talk gets out of control about the US, you must consider that it is totally moot. The second amendment was put in place by the federalists because of what they had just gone through to win the battle against the British King...And they had help from the French. Without them, we'd all be Brits. Battle of Yorktown and all that. However, all the land-based folks, the infantry and cavalry, were using swords and muzzle-loading long guns.

These days, the rebels (citizens) who have many many guns of their own thanks to that amendment after the uber documents were ratified, may very well be outgunned by the government they wish to defend against.

I feel that this whole "militia" deal is interpreted a bit half-cocked. So much has changed, and the term "militia", as sovereign citizens would put it, is outdated.
