Yeah, you make think I'm crazy...Had a lot of money on the sidelines.

Royce Value Trust...Will pick up their dividend because I bought today...Over 8%. A great value investment for a retiree.

Enbridge Inc. A Canadian and US pipeline...Put my price in for about $37.50 on Saturday...It had closed on Friday at 38.02. I think I picked it up for $33. something. Over a 6.25% dividend!! I know what oil is doing today...And their dividend may not hold...I get it. But if wells get capped, the ones that don't have to get their oil and GAS out of Canada to the ports in the US. A good value...In my Roth IRA. Do not have to file a special paper (for tax withholding) since it's a Roth IRA...Canadian company.

The Hartford Currently over a 2.5% dividend...If it holds. Last week my neighbor was complaining to me (here in California) that both his auto and home insurance was going thought the roof!! I looked into possible buys for this area. Currently a P/E of 8.35. Yes, they may get hit in their life insurance side...But it seems the virus is hitting/killing older people...Who have paid a lot into their policies. They have their hands in so many other area of insurance/mutual funds. The stock closed at $50.96 on Friday. On Saturday I put a buy order in at $49.98...Picked it up for $47. something.

To be open and honest...Here are some of my worst performers for today, Monday; BP, GE, CVX, ZION. WFC, WY.

Just saying there may be good buys for the value (retired) investor, that are looking for income and industry leaders...

Also just bought 100 shares of A T & T (T)...$34.81. Don't know if they will hold their dividend and a ton of employees could be a concern. They also bought Direct TV (a dog). Will try and do a covered call on this one and collect the dividend...If not, a buy and hold. People working from home will still need the pipes...DSL or 4/5 G...

Edited...10 minutes later, I just did a covered call on the Dec 20, price $37. Got $2.10 for the call ($210.- commission). Even if they don't keep their dividend, I have the call money. A wild day!!

Tuesday...Bought 100 shares of Duke Energy (DUK)...Bought at $93.89...Then did a covered call for Jan 21 $100. We got $4.80 ($480.) for that call...Income with a pretty good (boring) stock and a fair dividend. Just me...

Seems like a very safe stock. You only lose money if the price is below $86.25 in January, but the maximum you can make is only $1,374.50

Where the fuck in the world do you live that selling a call for $480 is income that pays your bills?

quite a good counter trend trading strategy.
but then such strategy might cause investors to retire penniless.

Do it 30-40 times a year. Own my own home...Many people do who are 64. No cable TV, no gym membership. Ride my bicycle to pay bills. Ray Kroc made pennies on his McDonald's hamburgers...How did he do that?? How can Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood make money with no commission fees??? I have other investments. I am trying to not make too much money!! I still want to be in the sweet spot for Obamacare...Keep the income low till Medicare hits. It's not what you make...It's what you take home. The key is to have a lot of assets without having a ton of income till the right time.

One last thing to think about...What do farmers do, if they have a good year (make a lot of money)?? They buy new equipment, tractors, fertilizer, sprays. WHY?? To show less income. They are land (or equipment) rich (assets) and they may or may not be cash poor.

You can chew on it for awhile...It will sink in.

Almost everything is red today on my board. The one that is up (slightly) is Bridgestone (BRDYC)...I'm going, what's up? No news...But then I look at the fundamentals. Price $15.60 at this time. No options available (Japanese company ADR). PE 8.36 and a dividend at 4.85%...Yeah, it makes sense.

You didn't hear about the world health organization calling coronavirus a pandemic today?
