    ....

As Dispatch.com reports, the Dublin-based burger giant started offering kiosks last year, and demand for the technology has been high from both customers and franchise owners.

"There is a huge amount of pull from (franchisees) in order to get them," David Trimm, Wendy's chief information officer, said last week during the company's investors' day.

"With the demand we are seeing ... we can absolutely see our way to having 1,000 or more restaurants live with kiosks by the end of the year."

A typical store would get three kiosks for about $15,000. Trimm estimated the payback on those machines would be less than two years, thanks to labor savings and increased sales. Customers still could order at the counter.

Kiosks are where the industry is headed, but Wendy's is ahead of the curve, said Darren Tristano, vice president with Technomic, a food-service research and consulting firm.

"They are looking to improve their automation and their labor costs, and this is a good way to do it," he said.

Who could have seen that coming? As we noted previously, minimum wage laws - while advertised under the banner of social justice - do not live up to the claims made by those who tout them. They do not lift low wage earners to a so-called “social minimum”. Indeed, minimum wage laws — imposed at the levels employed in Europe — push a considerable number of people into unemployment. And, unless those newly unemployed qualify for government assistance (read: welfare), they will sink below, or further below, the social minimum.

so we are bringing in a million immigrants a year to drive down wages... and forcing companies to adopt tech instead of jobs with min wage increases.

Could democrats be doing this by mistake? Or are they trying to collapse the system?

If we can recycle a used water bottle we should be able to find a use for a used up fast food worker.

Republicans use robots to make hamburgers.

Democrats attempt to program robots to demonstrate.

  4. The Democrats have an intelligence problem. That is why they are where they are. Poor, broke, down and out, and stupid as hell itself.

Poor people tend to vote democrat with the exception of a few elite. And the only reason the elite vote democrat is because they love to control people and are terrified of anything that is not group thought. The greatest threat to the socialist movement is the individual.

This is the best thing possible. Except for ChicFila, the average person taking your order at a fastfood restaurant looks like just got out of prison. It seems like some of convenience stores that also sell prepared food have moved to kiosk and it works quite well.

I still think the vast majority of people including democrats are responding properly to their situations.

You give people free money and benefits and make a huge benefit cliff if they go off to work; you are going to get a lot of people complaining when they have to change.

Its my contention that the 60 million extra people in the country have made wages lower and costs like housing much higher. Couple that with systemic inflation and you have a economic misery soup created by the FED and D.C. This situation should have washed out and reset 10 years ago. Instead we are pulling a japan.

First time job seekers look at the situation and say they would rather live in the parents basement and no life it.

I don't think its pure laziness. I see as bad policies leading to distorted economy leading to bad results.

the only question i have is how many people in govt realize what they are doing when they are doing the bidding of the cronies?
