    Heya Peeps,

(Putting this in "Programming" because its the closest thing to a tech forum on ET)

    - I have a Skype interview coming up, and I need a new Webcam.
    - I'm on a Mac/OSX.
    - I'm not so concerned about price, because webcams top out at about $100, and it is for an interview...

I'm more concerned with compatibility issues, or buying the wrong thing for its intended use. For example, does a wide-screen webcam help or hurt on Skype? It will take in more of the background.

    Here's my short list:

At $94.49, we have this best-seller, and streams 1080p at 60fps. Is that a bit overkill for Skype?

    At $62.64, another reasonable option:

At $30, There's the "iCubie," which seems to have that I'm-made-by-Apple-and-I'm-cute look about it:

At $19.99, this one is highly rated at 720p:

    Any recommendations? Thx!

    Sincerely,
    Keith :^)

That's easy. Order all 4 from AMZN, you're under $200 so bfd.... do mock interviews and look at em.

Be nice.... gently open them and keep all the packing material... then send the other 3 back.

    Good luck Kieth. . Seriously.

PS...If you don't get the job.... send #4 back too. :D

Both should be adequate. I have the C270 which is a downgrade from a previous model.

Do some testing with a friend. Make sure your speakers are away from and not pointing to the mic. A little feedback issue can really mess up the conference.

Thanks! I just did that with two friends... and it was a train wreck. My lighting was bad, camera position off, audio giving feedback, headset broken, and I forgot to shave this morning.

    Can't recommend a webcam.

However, I found this useful video a couple of months ago. Maybe it is of help to really optimize your setup and prepare for the Skype interview. It's a good idea to practice with your friends first.

  9. Just go for the most expensive option here really for everything you may have. It's very important cause it's something like your future in some way depends on that shit really;) Right ? So go for most stable solution here anyway. Thanks in advance.
