  1. Amid historically aggressive policy moves from the U.S. central bank and Congress, Dallas Federal Reserve President Robert Kaplan said the most important thing for the economy now is wearing protective face coverings.

Masks in public, Kaplan said, are key to stopping the coronavirus spread, which is increasing in record numbers and threatening to roll back the progress made since the U.S. went into lockdown in mid-March.

“The main message I’d have today about the economy from here and how to grow it probably has to do with managing this virus,” he told Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo in an interview Friday ...

Yes. How unfortunate the South have to eat their words...Oh yeah, and the Prez too. A little mask wearing here, a little soc. distancing there, and the market will be at ATH. Easy peasy....

It’s more palatable for the Republican deficit hawks to spend 4 trillion dollars.

    Yes.

America learned, 102 years ago, that face coverings lower the transmission/rate of he virus. How did so many American become devoid of common sense? How did they manage to reduce efficacy (i.e., the wearing of a mask to fight the virus) to a political issue?

Reminds me of the last time an elected official offered financial advise...
Maintain proper air pressure in your vehicle tires to maximize fuel efficiency.
All that followed that advise changed their financial situations like magic!!

    Political science.

  6. One sick person on transit can infect 100's of people just in one day. Not even counting the people that can be infected at an office or restaurant. Most people I know get sick once a year, rarely the flu but the common cold sure. Most of us use transit (friends in 20s, 30s, work in office where other people transit).

If everyone was forced to wear a mask and gloves prior to boarding transit (say mandatory during fall/winter, flu season) the infection rate would go down dramatically as germs are mostly contained within gloves and mask. Don't tell me some people can't wear masks because these people can buy full face masks which don't obstruct breathing. If you're a Karen, it's your problem. It's more cost effective than wearing disposable N95s. Governments could step in to mass produce full face masks to make them even more affordable. They technically are cheap in comparison to constantly getting sick and taking unpaid leave.

  7. The most important thing for the economy is to vote the dumb Dems out of office this November!
