The Dow is only 8% off an ath . Even though rates went up 10 fold p/e’s never contracted much off some of the highest in history . There’s no question inflation #’s yr over yr will be tumbling over the next 6 months . The question is will Wall Street that never see’s long term pain get its way and sky the mkt?
Rates are high, because inflation is high and thus the index gets low. I'm wondering tho., - could it be that, rates are high, when the index is low, thus it would be harder to borrow, in order to get into the index. Simply put - ,,Now, we don't want to see you opening long positions''
Jay Powell is not happy with Wall Street and their (slapping a trio of idioms together) YOLO, BTFD, Devil May Care attitude. I believe he has surprise coming to get their attention.
All I know is an 18 pk of eggs was $5 six months ago at Wally World and now they're $11. WTF? I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for them to see $5 again.
Corporate America got permission to extort unheard profits for its shareholders without the slightest regard for everyone else. Same with greedy team Green in the video card market and pretty much every other sector. Good luck finding any car dealer right now who sells new cars at msrp. This has gone on for way too long and the flood gates of this level of corporate graft sand greed can't be easily shut anymore. I predict this to get a lot worse before it gets better. I can't picture how the boat is turned around short of a revolution.
Not in my local Wally. Not even close. Although have heard of higher prices due to BirdFlu euthanasia of stocks.
True but politicians do nothing about it, they are way too busy to stand in front of a picturesque Arabian Bazar in California to utter a few words to the same woke people they buy their votes from. As long as everyone in the circle showed enough emotional outrage it's mission accomplished, back to business.
And I clearly recall pissin and moaning 2 years ago because a dozen eggs was $1.50 at Wally World. Saw them 15 minutes ago for 7.62/dozen at Fiesta Mexican food mart.
