High school teams with Indian names - Tomahawk, Braves, Chiefs etc all changing names. Also word "savage" is to be removed from all and all descriptions of Indians.
Commanders though.... will be so hard to get used to since it does not have any history haha... Sounds like what kids would name their flag football team..
I haven't watched an NFL game in 20 years and could care less, but it's a stupid name. Or maybe it's not. From a marketing/branding standpoint they had to know that "Commies" will be the name that sticks in pop culture. I'm sure that was discussed in depth. In a way, it's a cute name. "We play the Commies this week." I dunno. Might be marketing genius. edit: That is a beautiful dog.
