I know for a fact that it has been a long-standing policy for Lowe's and HD employees to not confront shoplifters when they witness the crime. Just report it to Loss Prevention and let them deal with it. And the LP guys are told the same thing, and they are to call the cops.

Corporate policy states that it is not worth losing your life over someone stealing a power-tool or whatever. So naturally, the same would apply to someone going apeshit if they are asked to wear a mask.

It's the freedom of the polluter, like an economic externality, but a pathogenic externality in this case. It's an irresponsible abuse of freedom that endangers or even harms others, and without even any great and so understandable benefit to the polluter. No true libertarian supports such a thing, and will (grudgingly) admit such externalities are an unfortunate market failing, and why we must have (some) government.

What's really sad is the whiny bitch crying about "freedom freedom", rally round the flag, thump the Constitution, for some small inconvenience that won't be necessary in a few months and forgotten after that. Ridiculous.

  3. The nearest grocery store I sometimes shop at (Fred Meyer) does not let people into the store without a mask. Maybe they will change with the others. It took them quite awhile for them to make people wear masks in the first place.

Remember...If you want to take out one of the pawns not wearing a mask while you pass them, you have to yell "en passant" before beating them over the head with a club. Rules is rules.

I go into a grocery store that doesn't require masks. I do not go into any stores that do.---Very few do.

    Sweet no true scotsman.

A "true" libertarian would recognize two things:

    1. It's an intrinsic right of the person to not wear a mask.
    2. It's an intrinsic right of a company to deny someone entry for noncompliance with their requirements for entry.

No laws are needed. Less cowards running companies are. Laws are difficult to remove once they're in place. "Emergency orders" tend to stay around a lot longer than they are needed.
