Basically 13 up yrs and the last 3 up 24% a yr . The Dow never corrected 20% . S@p never got within 10% of its 2020 ath. Powell has skied rates . Earnings a disaster . S@P up 14% off it’s lows . But the bear is over . Cramer said today “ don’t miss this opp to buy stocks “ . I’m still thinking this is the big big one and all will hate stocks when this ends .Of course none of us know and we trade what we see not what we think . But it’s fun to take a guess .
The bear market doesn't end until one or two of my friends vow to never touch stocks again. Edit: or alternatively, it's not a bear market until my friends buy the dip and it keeps dipping. So far, we're down a measly 14%. Any reasonable BTFDer could have martingaled into profit by now.
These bear market rallies are wonderful. They suck in more money for the eventual capitulation tank (which we are no where near yet). Look at charts from 2000-2002 and 2007-2009. Count how many “Bottom is In!” rallies only to crash through the lows weeks/months later. Summer bear market rally. Use it wisely.
As another poster said were hardly down in the dow and S@P. Even if we had no inflation , war , covid . A 15-20% pullback would have been normal after a 13 year bull . With rates up 225 basis pts in 4 months and earnings flat mkt most overvalued ever .
But you only call in hindsight!!! Please try to call in advance, that's where the real juice is, clubber. That's what takes kahunas. Calling in the rearview mirror is easy but even that some cats get wrong. Try clubber, try, try for cryin out loud, try try try. But I do applaud you for seeing the depth of this BEAR and recognizing that it is nowher enear over. You've been around at ET since biblical times, try to call in advance please. have a nice one, clubber
The BEAR market does not end until there is nobody left to post at ET except yours truly and perhaps one or 2 other guys who are trying to catch the bottom. All will have left in total disgust and want nothing more to do with markets. When there is zero interest in financial markets left, the BEAR will quietly register a bottom that only a very very very few will SEE and nail and profit from.
