We regularly hear people claiming there is no voting fraud in the U.S. in recent years. They exclaim "Show us the convictions". Well --- here you go. A database which lists the Convictions and other information regarding voting fraud in the U.S. You can use the search to review by state, type, year and other factors. https://www.heritage.org/voterfraud Note this is just a sampling of the voter fraud convictions -- there may be others not captured yet in the data.
No one claims there's no voter fraud, just that it's not statistically significant to warrant disenfranchisement measures pushed by the GOP. Like mandating masks for the common cold (unlike COVID).
Out of 160 million votes no one claimed there was going to be some issues. But when the issues found are statistically so insignificant as to not have any bearing on the actual outcome, then you know the system works really well and worked really well in 2016 (you know when Trump won) and in 2012 and 2008 etc.... If we find an example of something is it a proof? Of course not. There is no fraud of the scale alleged by the Trumptitties that means you should throw out the votes of the entire country. Trump lost....suck a dick and get out of the WH. Obama did it in 2016 and HRC conceded the next day. Who cares if she bitched and moaned for 4 years..she did it outside the WH and without asking that people's votes be thrown out and redone or the military step in and take over.
These are all kinds of election interferences that include private community board elections. This database is the fraud if the intent is to prove fraud exists on a meaningful scale. Here is an example of so called voter fraud according to Heritage:
You do realize in many states that "private communities" are the same as small towns -- and the state/county has oversight in their community elections. These private communities are different than "home owner associations". "Private communities" are responsible for their own water, sewer, roads, trash, policing, etc. and do not depend on the county for these services.
So. It’s not the in person fraud you’re portraying it to be. The list has very little to do with in person voter fraud and rarely on a state or national level. Most of the stuff I saw was local or special elections not on a major ballot and had to do with harvesting or discouragement. Have you actually reviewed the so called database. It really doesn’t help your case.
I will allow others to review the list of convictions. Nearly all are instances of individual voting fraud including non-citizens voting with some instances of ballot harvesting tossed in. Keep in mind that these are just the instances caught and convicted. Most states don’t really pursue voting fraud. Some common senses measures including picture voter id can further reduce the problems and enhance the integrity of our elections.
This is a solution in search of a problem. A few thousand of incidents of election law violations that include a spattering of voter fraud over a couple decades only proves out of the hundreds of millions of votes cast nationally that the integrity of US elections excellent. I reviewed states in question today, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Both have very issues and extremely rarely true in person voter fraud. We have access to the same “database” perhaps you can prove your case and show us the in person voter fraud in these states, or any state for that matter.
So your proposal is that we should have no restrictions or regulations. We should even not have voter registration even. All of these "safe guards" make it more difficult to vote according to your philosophy and disenfranchises minorities, etc., etc. etc. It is more important that people believe in the integrity of our voting system and that individuals cannot get away with with voter fraud.... measures such as picture voter id help ensure this while they do not the reduce the number of people voting or disenfranchise anyone. I will note also that states with picture voter id have higher turnout than states without it. The data shows that claims that picture voter id requirements reduce turnout or suppress the vote are nonsense.
This paragraph is very important, and something the left is either intentionally not addressing or simply not getting. I believe in the former. There will always be some people who believe the system is rigged no matter what you do. you have to discount them. But when 25-35% of the population (according to recent polls) think the system is rigged, this is a real problem. You would get a higher number if you asked the question of "whether or not fraud occurs". Instead of discounting claims about election fraud as "baseless" or "crazy talk" or the belief of "idiots", we should be running every claim to the ground to show - without the shadow of a doubt - that fraud isn't prevalent or widespread. If and when we find these instances of fraud, we should prosecute them to the full extent of the law. By both parties. I suspect that Democrats prefer Republicans to believe the system is rigged so they would prefer not to vote. Win for the democrats.
