  1. Daily Trade Ideas Based On Low EV/EBITDA Stocks Moving Up > 3% Intraday...

Stocks in play - Monday 8th June at 10:10am EST
    Total: 5 qualifying companies...
    AGX:
    ARGAN INC - EV/EBITDA 6.95
ANFI: AMIRA NATURE FOODS LTD - EV/EBITDA 7.22
    NR: NEWPARK RESOURCES INC - EV/EBITDA 8.51
    WILN: WI-LAN INC - EV/EBITDA 9.18
CVGI: COMMERCIAL VEHICLE GROUP INC - EV/EBITDA 13.35

Starting this thread to invite discussion / trade ideas, on compelling 'value' stocks, based on a low Enterprise Value to EBITDA (EV/EBITDA) ratio of less than 15 (considered fundamentally undervalued, subject to further analysis), which are in-play / actively trading on an intraday price move above 3%.

The idea-generating strategy is based on a simple pre-defined stock screener, available free at tradepilot, which identifies companies currently trading at an EV/EBITDA<15, and up over 3% on the day (so far). The screen effectively combines both an advanced fundamental value ratio (EV/EBIT, and EV/FCF are also available, among others) with active price movement/momentum.

Financial stocks are excluded (due to accounting differences), as are stocks with a market-cap below $50m, and an average-volume of under 30,000 shares/day, to improve entry/exit liquidity. I have also applied an additional 'balance sheet health-check' screen filter, to remove any company with an excessive bankruptcy risk, measured by an Altman Z-Score of less than 1.8 (this is automatically built into the screener, and low-scoring companies auto-excluded).

Updates throughout the day - check/refresh screener for latest updates.

To re-iterate, I apply this strategy purely for 'idea generation' (not decisive entry/exit), subject to further analysis, and (especially) discussion, hence the initiation of this thread - hope to encourage constructive views / stock-specific opinion...

PS: I also use both the EV/EBIT, and EV/FCF (free cash flow) ratio to identify potentially undervalued stocks, which work better for certain industries (still testing), where EBITDA may not be as effective. I will probably start additional threads for these specific ratio's along the same lines, with daily updates - please PM me if there is interest in this.
