Value Investing

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Forexer Guru, Mar 3, 2024.

  1. I have created this journal to document my value-investing journey. I want it to be a tool for self-reflection, learning, and tracking my progress.

    Brief background

Value investing is an investment strategy that involves identifying undervalued stocks and investing in them with the expectation that their true intrinsic value will be recognized by the market over time.

The approach was popularized by renowned investors such as Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett.

  2. 3/4/2024 8 hours to the opening of NYSE
    GPI.NYSEGroup 1 Automotive Inc.
The price is expected to decline, potentially reaching levels below 271 but remaining above 264.30 before experiencing a subsequent rise
sl should be around 260 Holding time 3-4 days (views are personal and are not recommendations)

So what you're saying is that you plan to swing trade value stocks? Dude, that's an oxymoron.

  4. @schizo you're so wise you should have been born in 3024.

Just ignore what I said in my initial post because it appears contradictory. I did some research over 6 months, and I found a relationship between undervalued assets and stop-loss position

I would like someone to point out why buying the identified asset is not a great idea because once or twice a month, I will get it wrong, and that will be a great time for me to perfect my skill.

daily chart - so choppy; it is going don't-know-where.
    Are there better-looking, curvy charts?

And you really expect to make money from value stocks in just 3-4 days? I hope you know they're called "value stocks" for a reason.

But then again, as I'm looking at the stock you mentioned, it hardly looks like a value stock. Do you mind spelling out for me what you consider as value stock?

  8. Yes, I expect to earn between 2% and 4% of my margin if I trade GPI.NYSE (Group 1 Automotive Inc.), only if the price comes down to around 264.30. I could also lose at most 2% of my margin if the trade goes against me.

  9. I found that my strategy works well for undervalued stocks or those trading at fair value prices. I am here to simply track my progress and learn from experienced individuals like Maxinger and Schizo
