American politicians don't have better things to do then meddle in another country politics https://www.marketwatch.com/story/s...ls-over-hong-kong-security-law-wsj-2020-05-21 Punishing individuals and politicians and gov't bureaucrats doing their job? It's called political interference by a foreign country or US imperialism ,mind your freaking business. america has it's own civil war. and issues within it's own country Its none of American politician business what another country enact laws for. Lot of countries pot is illegal and gambling is illegal. etc. Not your jurisdiction of your problem
Free Hong Kong. If you want to live under communist rule, that's your choice. Let Taiwan and Hong Kong decide for themselves.
Listen, it's obvious you're a chicom so I'll explain this slowly and methodically for you: 1. Hong kong is an autonomous region attached to China 2. Hong kong wants independence from the communists 3. Hong kong wants China to stop interfering in their politics 4. Hong kong wants China to stop disappearing Ughyur muslims 5. Hong kong wants China to stop disappearing political dissidents 6. Hong kong wants China to stop disappearing falun gong and harvesting their organs 7. Hong kong wants to stop the senseless disappearances and murders of Hong Kong students for protesting against Winnie the Pooh. 7. America stands with hong kong. It's really this simple. If Hong Kong falls to the Chicoms you can be sure taiwan will have "sanctions" put on it as well. I hope you're prepared for another century of humiliation. The rest of us can't wait.
That is the problem, your agenda is destory another country like Iraq, etc. It's political issue in another country. An opinion from a racist anti-china politician don't matter and taken with grain a salt.
Hating China and their human rights violations is racist - got it. It's not like people from Hong Kong are also Asian and those alleged "racist" senators seem to support them. I'll go ahead and lump your opinion with every other smoothbrain that thinks this is true.
it's a soveriegn country and none of American politicians business and Hong Kong economy was doign fine before the protesting probably started by american support. Now Hong Kong is economic disaster for it's residence and could be city for 'proxy war' the people who pay the price for the proxy war is the residence of Hong Kong. And Americans won't send troops to hong kong to defend it. or send troops to Taiwan if China wants to invade Taiwan if Taiwan stupidly declares independence
HK is under binding agreement to go back to China. Only issue I have here is mainland trying to expedite things, violating the agreement themselves.
America started out as colonies with a binding agreement to England. We saw how well it worked for England. Perhaps we will be the France in Hong Kong's independence fight. We can only hope our congressmen who can't even represent us will at least represent the idea of America in a country fighting for it's freedom from oppression by a totalitarian communist government. Hong Kong is a disaster? You should watch some of the videos of HK protestors screaming that they aren't suicidal because the Chinese government will execute them and pass it off as a "suicide". There are videos of trains full of non-violent protestors being taken to only God knows where, possibly even to their deaths. For what? Wanting democracy? Not wanting communism? China exerts power through a temporary imbalance in labor. After the china virus subsides we'll see how much power the western world allows China to have. I want to be clear here. The west allows China to have power. It has no real intrinsic power. It's several decades away from even matching the military might of 1980s America and surrounded on all sides by strongest military on the planet. Ever wondered why China won't try to take Taiwan? It would be the end of China, and probably the entire world. They know it. That's why they pick on someone like Hong Kong who has no direct military intervention agreement with America. They know that if they picked a fight with Taiwan the reaper would be calling.
As much as democracy has proven resilient, communist China has lifted more people out of poverty than most empires & provided its citizens a relatively safe, & just society with equality we've yet to match. Nobody's going to wage war against China on HK going back on the agreed terms.
