US Feds recovered 64 of the 75 BTC that Colonial Pipeline paid in ransom to the Russian hacking group Darkside.

Apparently US Intelligence Agencies can follow crypto transactions in detail and they can straight up hack and seize a wallet if they choose to.

    Where is the cryptocurrency security?
    Be careful.
It is 100% confirmed that your wallet could be emptied out of nowhere.

At first, I thought the US should hire those smart Russian hackers.
Now, it seems like it is not a good idea.

The battle of the hacker vs hacker continues .....

I mean, if US Intelligence has found a way to track crypto transactions like a wire transfer with a swift code - and then unlock the wallet and seize it.... kinda game over.

    Bullshit.

Technically, there are machines under Ft. Meade that can easily and routinely crack RSA encryption but the government would never be so reckless as to publicly admit to using National Assets to crack private keys of fraudsters. It would be so profoundly stupid as to defy belief.

Nope, they chased down the transactions to an exchange or software wallet but they did not compromise BTC. They control the offramps and onramps but never the BTC network.

I have no reason to dispute you. All I know is that Biden is set to meet Putin on the 16th, that the US economy and public and private institutions have been spooked by Russian hackers as of late, and that DARPA and NSA have a history of gangsta moves.

it looks scary to hold cryptocurrencies.

It seems like holding digital currency is an unwise move too.
the wallet might be emptied out of nowhere.
