The U.S. is considering $3.1 billion in new tariffs on products from France, Germany, Spain and the UK
    • The goods in consideration include olives, coffee, chocolate, beer, gin, some trucks and machinery.
    • The potential enforcement of the new tariffs is open to public comment hrough July 26.

No Logic anymore is there, EU's had it, it's got it, why stop a few others coming in that might have it, it's not going to change the story. ( Auss and New Zealand fair enough )

You Lockdown and expect 3months later it still won't be around, all became magically immune while sat at home bored, top people flapping there arms around it's came back arggghhh it never went.

This will panic the UK so more lockdowns, cause well I don't know why they obviously just delay what's happening at huge cost.

US' history of leveling the playing field with smallpox has everyone forewarned ;)

The US has been shutting down massive numbers of federal Covid testing sites since late May in the middle of a massive outbreak.

And after American travelers get out of quarantine, where do they stay? As this continues to worsen in the US few will want them in their hotel or other. There will be accusations of meanness and hurt feelings.

There is also a Travel ban for EU residents to enter the US.

Why shouldn't both have same Standards...

Travel ban should of been back in Jan, nobody in our out China and we'll give China 5Trillion for there support of this, until there are been zero infections for 3 months then limited travel after 14day quarantine for the next year.

Not 6months later when it's already got around the entire world, muppets.

I think I should run the world, via Logic, not fear and bad science from paid lying scientists, scientists lie to, Sheldon Cooper isn't a real scientist he's what they think a scientist should be like.

Seriously though with NYC imposing travel bans on other US states, opening travel except in the most exceptional humanitarian circumstances is insane.

Belgium is not the only country that will feel the wrath of their electorate next ballot. Other countries have politics too.

A travel ban makes some sort of sense. Too bad that's not the remedy we're discussing, isn't it?

They did not implement a travel ban. They said it is a 2-week quarantine if you come in from certain other states seeing a rise in case-counts.

The whole idea is ludicrous, and has too much of a "feel-good" move.

MA has had that restriction for months, and nobody followed that directive. Yet MA is one of the few states that kept the curve down. Because everyone here wears masks and tried their best to sanitize their hands after going out in public.

The headline I read was suggesting a ban but a quarantine few to nobody will follow there means Americans travelling to Europe will do likewise, as they have on many occasions in Colombia.

As I said, European nation leaders would be eaten alive politically for allowing irresponsible and frankly more than a little insane Americans enter. A lot of people have lost family or know someone and it feels personal.

My own aunt is in an Alzheimer nursing home in Ireland. She had for reasons the doctors can't explain improved dramatically to the point where she always seemed to know who everyone was and my cousins were taking her out regularly. Then all this happens and they go into lockdown for three months. The staff are great, the virus did not get in but.. She just could not connect much with zoom calls and seems lost, angry at being from as best she could tell abandoned. I spent many hours and days talking with doctors and family and could not find a less worse experience for her. It was gut wrenching. The place is open now for visitors in a very limited and controlled manner.

So why the f would I and many others like me want to risk reverse so some business people can meet in person or whatever complicating a very fragile situation? Figure it out online and by courier.

This decision is good for everyone as the Covid cases are just increasing on and on.
