https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-al...disease-outbreak-in-china-in-november-report/ US alerted Israel, NATO to disease outbreak in China in November — TV report White House was reportedly not interested in the intel, but it was passed onto NATO, IDF; when it reached Israel’s Health Ministry, ‘nothing was done’ By TOI staff 16 April 2020, 9:51 pm US intelligence agencies alerted Israel to the coronavirus outbreak in China already in November, Israeli television reported Thursday. According to Channel 12 news, the US intelligence community became aware of the emerging disease in Wuhan in the second week of that month and drew up a classified document. Information on the disease outbreak was not in the public domain at that stage — and was known only apparently to the Chinese government. US intelligence informed the Trump administration, “which did not deem it of interest,” but the report said the Americans also decided to update two allies with the classified document: NATO and Israel, specifically the IDF. Medical staff wear protective clothing to help stop the spread of a deadly virus which began in the city, work at the Wuhan Red Cross Hospital in Wuhan on January 25, 2020. (Hector Retamal/) The network said Israeli military officials later in November discussed the possibility of the spread of the virus to the region and how it would affect Israel and neighboring countries. The intelligence also reached Israel’s decision makers and the Health Ministry, where “nothing was done,” according to the report. Last week, ABC News reported that US intelligence officials were warning about the coronavirus in a report prepared in November by the American military’s National Center for Medical Intelligence. It was unclear if that was the same report that was said to have been shared with Israel. Colonel Shane Day, the NCMI director, denied last week that any such report existed. “As a matter of practice the National Center for Medical Intelligence does not comment publicly on specific intelligence matters,” he said. “However, in the interest of transparency during this current public health crisis, we can confirm that media reporting about the existence/release of a National Center for Medical Intelligence Coronavirus-related product/assessment in November of 2019 is not correct. No such NCMI product exists.” In its first major step to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Israel announced on January 30 it was barring all flights from China, ten days after Chinese leader Xi Jinping issued his first public comments on the virus and the Asian country’s top epidemiologist said for the first time it could be spread from person to person. An Associated Press report on Wednesday said Xi’s warning came seven days after Chinese officials secretly determined that they were likely facing a pandemic, potentially costing China and other countries valuable time to prepare for the outbreak. Doctors in Wuhan, the city at the center of the outbreak in China, are reported to have first tried to have warn about the virus in December, but were censored. The Chinese government has repeatedly denied suppressing information in the early days, saying it immediately reported the outbreak to the World Health Organization.
I heard our intelligence could tell due to an influx of patients at the hospitals having a unknown form of viral pneumonia.
This story may have merit,, based on symptoms I experienced in Texas during December. I had significant flu symptoms that included a fever for just a day. After an latent periods of a few days, I developed relatively mild respiratory symptoms that lasted for about two weeks. I have never experienced this type of flu symptom progression like this before in my life. I'm curious to see if I have COVID-19 antibodies and will look to get a test this week when I return to Texas. If I did have COVID-19, I made have recieved it or given it to my girlfriend, who had very minor symptoms. One potential implication of this is COVID-19, probably in a less dangerous form, had already spread around the world. I considered a scenario in January that COVID-19 was released on purpose by China for causing a crisis, however, the virus went through global populations without the desired effect. Then, either through the release of a more potent virus or an effective social media strategy, COVID-19 finally became a crisis. This is all speculative, of course, but should I test positive for COVID-19 antibodies, it would be a scenario worth considering.
I have no doubt the virus was here considerably before we thought it was. A good portion of the population most likely have anti-bodies.
Glad you and your lady made it through with minor symptoms.Though not life threatening many with mild flu symptoms still lost their taste and smell,me included.Like you my flu symptoms were mild and lasted about 2 weeks but I still haven't gotten my smell and taste back and its been nearly a month.Im kinda glad I got it so hopefully we're immune for a year or 2. Let me know your results of your antibody test and how you got it.My doctor says they are not widespread and have waiting lists and he doesn't think they are very reliable right know.
I will look into getting a test that can identify a specific strain of COVID-19 if it looks like I have the antibodies.
I think me and my wife may have had it in early March...no fever but a horrible cough. What was odd about us getting sick was our six year old and 16 year old were perfectly fine. This was the first time both myself and wife got sick without the six year old getting sick. Fortunately I got symptoms on a Monday and worked from home the entire week, thus not spreading it at work.
There was something odd going around in Colombia in late December, not a flu, a trader friend had it also as did my father in law and his also. High 104 fever for a day but it would not just go, kept getting hot, no runny nose, loss of smell but brief only a day, pain in muscles legs hurting, then intestinal problems two days on the toilet, then a runny nose then cough, very very bad and dry, then clearing a lot of yellow gunk. All the covid-19 symptoms but not consistent with it in other ways as it came on too fast, just two days from contact with symptomatic father in law and nobody else (20 family and friends there) caught it though we both kept distance. My friend had some blood in his phlegm, TB test was negative. Makes me reflect a lot what the hell it was, it took 8 days from symptoms to clear. I have to wonder sometimes if there are two different things going on, this whatever it was coincidental and making a lot of people think they had covid-19 (but not as it would have run riot here and has not but has in Ecuador).
As a follow-up to my earlier post. A good friend of mine just tested positive for the antibodies. She had gotten sick at the end of December after traveling to Chicago for the Christmas parade. She ended up with a severve case of pnuemonia and was prescribed two types of antibiotics. The first antibiotic did nothing so the doctor tried another form which didn't work either. She remembered that when she got the chest xray, the xray technician said they'd worked there for twenty years and had never seen that many cases of pnuemonia before. Now that she tested positive for the antibodies this makes a lot more sense. She had been having lung issues since that time. Turns out that there might be some scarring in her lungs which lead her to wonder if she had it.
I am sure if the original story is true that U.S. intelligence warned Israel and Nato about the virus, then the same intelligence warned Trump but given his past history to ignore intelligence, he also ignored this warning.
