"I debated whether to post this or not but decided to go ahead, hoping that you guys might find a lesson to be learned here.

I also want to take the time to announce my retirement from full-time trading. It's been an amazing 8 years for me. I've made enough money to take care of my family for generations to come, it's been more than I ever hoped for.

This will likely be my last trading video. I don't know what I'm going to do now except whatever I want. Enjoying life is my priority now.

To avoid any confusion, I had planned to retire earlier this year and is not due to this trade.

Thank you all, I wish you the best."

    Is this guy legit ?

Apparently he goes by lakai here on ET making a 7 figures on one trade from a personal account is no joke.

Someone trying to back up lakai's story:

    "Ha just found this thread.

Lak is a real trader that has been trading for 8 years or so and worked his way up to what you see today.

I've been talking with him for nearly 3 years now and learning by watching him livestream his trades.

He's the real deal and so many choose not to believe it because they doubt they're own ability in trading.

They see some guy making hundreds of thousands in a day and choose ignorance and say "oh it cant be real for _______ reason" all the while wishing it wasn't real because they feel they will never match up to his performance.

Lak himself says anyone can learn to trade, its a skill, not an innate ability. It took him years to get to where he is, years of constant work and study and really figuring out how markets move.

Frankly, I'm ashamed of the members of futures.io (formerly BMT) in this thread that said Lak is fake."

Someone trying to prove its a sim account:

"- It is odd that he is so casual on his large lots often walking away from his trades to float in the wind but how often do locals on squawk box ride their losses so that doesn't mean its fake..
    - It is also possible that he altered the color on his DOM though I'm not an expert on computers and coding
    - Probably my biggest suspicion is that I sometimes notice a slight delay in his execution from my perception on his stop/limit orders which is more characteristic of sim than real.. Real execution gets hit as soon as bid/ask "touches" the order so that part I do pay attention to.
    - It is also odd that he's not using better charting but often we don't like the learning curve of new platforms and stay with what works.. Since he only watches his candles and nothing else, it may not be an issue to him as his dom reflects current price and TOS gives him levels to the left..

His conversations are sometimes broadcasted live and he sounds to be around late 30's to mid forties.. I would have guessed the accent from East Coast..

PB's comment about his 100 lot sitting bid orders with no iceberg not reflected in the size does require an explanation or it is 100% sim. The same goes for MFG not offering NT but there may be an explanation.."

  3. Up $1,300,000 Then Lost It All"

What does that translate to in terms of % return?
and how long was that trade held for?

(i don't like it when people just post numbers only, that's only part of the overall picture)

No idea but allegedly he started his futures trading account with 13k 9 years ago and now he makes 6-7 figure profits/losses daily.

Judging from the fact that he can take care of his family for generations I assume his net worth is well into the 8 figures.

That is of course if this is a real account.

  5. Oh, that makes reasonable sense then. -- in 9 years of trading options and futures...then that's relatively doable.
that's plenty of time to grow and compound a small account to a large one...specially trading leveraged products.

I wouldn't say relatively doable but definitely possible in the right conditions/strategy.

  7. I highly doubt this is legit. A millionaire trader would have invested in proper trading software by now.

The boat is a Palmer Johnson 48M. I don't think any of the gold ones have been delivered yet. I thought they weren't due out til 2016 and only a few per year.

As always...a bit skeptical of some of the claims. If it's legit, good for him.

Ninja demo FTW. You guys have entirely too much time on your hands. Imagine spending that time developing an edge?

Trading 500 lots using TOS for the chart and Ninjatrader for DOM? Seriously?!
If I had the balls and the resource to trade that many lots, hell, I would have upgraded to something more fashionable. Why drive BMW when you can drive Bentley?
