Union Pacific Official Blames L.A.’s Far-Left Policies For Massive Train Thefts, Considers Leaving L.A. | The Daily Wire

"An official with Union Pacific (UP) revealed late last week that the organization believes that approximately 90 shipping containers are compromised by theives every day as images have gone viral in recent days showing the aftermath of the thieves stealing thousands of packages."

"Guerrero then slammed the city’s far-left politics, saying that they are enabling the criminals who he says brag about being let off easy for their crimes".

“Criminals are caught and arrested, turned over to local authorities for booking, arraigned before the local courts, charges are reduced to a misdemeanor or petty offense, and the criminal is released after paying a nominal fine,” Guerrero said. “These individuals are generally caught and released back onto the streets in less than twenty-four hours".

It's shameful what the Left is doing, just shameful.

There needs to be a public outcry. These costs are passed onto the consumer. Where are the security guards, by the way?

I don't understand why these are not being treated as federal crimes, as the freight railroads are governed by the FRA, which to railroads is what the FAA is to airliners.

I suppose something will be done when inevitably, one of these trains comes into that yard with a "hot wheel", parks next to some cardboard, and the whole place including the train catches fire.

Naw, this isn't any different than the homeless encampments along UP lines in California. They don't do a fucking thing until it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

They have simply waited too long to see that there's a problem. Adam Housley reported on this way back in October. All of a sudden there's a problem?

    Ain't buying it.
