Luigi M Mangione got his revenge besides alleged murder. DOJ investigating United Health for medicare fraud. UHC , United Health Care Stock, was at 611, day of murder. Today is at 445 a drop of -24% Market value on Dec 4 was 618 billion Today market value is 476 billion for a staggering loss of 182 billion dollars in long positions.
I am a believer in karma. For me it has always worked. The key is you sometimes need alot of patience for it to assert itself.
I was watching Fast Money Halftime Report and one of the traders said that Humana was the company really in limbo for this kind of shenanigan. Humana is 80% Medicare whereas UNH is only 25%. Humana chart already is a bear market so I don't know how much more it will fall. Cigna has very little Medicare business so it won't be effected by this.
Then there is this from AMA Feb 6th, which may be out of date after latest round of nonsensical arbitrary DC firings, furloughing, broad swath sword slashing, etc:- As practices fight to survive, health plans see another payday https://www.ama-assn.org/practice-m...fight-survive-health-plans-see-another-payday
Luigi did what he needed to do. He revealed a horrible entity and burned it. I wish I could Follow thru with that kind of execution and Bravery.
Bill Ackman has been at war with UNH, I wonder if he’s behind the DOJ investigation? Not complaining though and gladly thank him!
Government invesigations are frequentingly started as a result of tips by private citizens. Of course that doesn't apply to the SEC which acts only after the horse has left the barn. Madoff, etc.
I thought UHC was already under investigation late 2023? I believe the CEO got into hot water for dumping stock before revealing to the public that they were being investigated by DOJ
If anything, I'd think current DOJ would quash any investigation of UNH or any other major corp for the next four years. The only "investigating" Admin will do is .... how big a tax break to give them.
