U.S. Government Owns Way More Bitcoin Than Any Other Country - So Why Aren't They Selling It? Michael del Castillo - Forbes Washington owns more than $5 billion worth of seized bitcoin and has been reluctant to part with it. That may represent inertia more than strategy. From the increasingly ferocious federal crackdown on the cryptocurrency business, it might appear the U.S. government cannot stand digital currencies. Yet there is a love-hate dynamic: the Treasury is sitting on a stash of 207,189 bitcoin, worth $5 billion, by far the largest such state-owned hoard. /jlne.ws/3JmzjlM
From one thief to another. Why not redistribute back to the citizens? I wonder how many of them were ill gotten.
No need to sell it. Instead of printing more $ full-retard Biden style, just donate it to Ukraine. They have addresses set up for Bitcoin/Ethereum donations for the war effort. Just ship it if they hate crypto so much.
They already started selling it in March. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brando...ase-netting-over-215-million/?sh=183289b02888 I know they are also realizing the stupidity of their early selling, and maybe that's why they are holding for higher numbers.
I believe part of their stupidity is they sold too much too fast and caused a noticeable drop. Not too bright... But that's how western governments operate. It's a requirement to be dumb I suppose.
I'm guessing they are going to try and sell at less than 69K. If they really hated Bitcoin they would probably make the market dump before then, assuming the FOMOs don't overpower them.
