i tried to short stocks today and found the 'sshort' command missing. up to yesterday, there were 3 commands: 'buy', 'sell', 'sshort'. now there's only 'buy' & 'sell'. anybody else using IB noticed this?

IB help said this is not new, always 'buy' & 'sell' commands only. they said use 'buy' to buy+cover short positions and 'sell' to short+cover long positions.

    thanks.

Not a big deal since I've always just used Sell to initiate short positions.

TWS prevents you from shorting unborrowable stocks or on a downtick thus eliminating the need for a short sell button.

you should check build number and release notes from time to time on IB page, then-we all will save some time to write and answer on questions like this one.
