Hi, all Has anyone noticed TWS freezing briefly every now and then after updating to Java 7 40? I've a second trading machine which still uses Java 7 25 and isn't affected by this problem. I'm on TWS 936.9h. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
it does that on all my PC's without this update. what can i say...i remember that they(IB) recommended i5..(i have old dual core AMD's)and i guess you have to update your PC every year or so to keep up with that junk ,they been adding every week..
cmon bob my man, pc's are so cheap, why you struggling with old crap? even I update at least once in 5 years.
I am not experiencing this problem. In fact, a previous issue seems to have been solved by the latest Java update. Launching Risk Navigator after launching and quitting Mosaic used to freeze the entire TWS and peg the CPU. This no longer happens. My system: TWS 940.4 Java 1.7.0_40 Mac OS X 10.9.0 2.4 GHz quad-core i7 8 GB RAM
FWIW - I have seen a large Java/Swing program run flawlessly on 1.7.25 and stutter on 1.7.40. There is definitely something in 1.7.40 that affects Swing and network communications (sockets in particular).
Thanks for the feedback, vikana. Hmmm... If Java 1.7.40 has network communication issues, I guess there may be little the IB TWS software team could do about it.
