Two Questions From the Pats Colts Game

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by AAAintheBeltway, Jan 19, 2015.

  1. 1. How could three teams let LaGarrett Blunt go? Guy is a total stud.

    2. WTF was Bellichick thinking leaving Brady and his starters in with a 30 point lead late in the fourth quarter?

  2. 1- RB's are a dime a dozen. Nothing special about Blount at all. Jonas Gray went for 199 yards and 4 TD's against Indianapolis in November...he was doing stand up comedy shows before getting a call from New England!

2- Bellichik always leaves his studs in until the final whistle.

I don't understand it and I think it's stupid. It got Gronkowski hurt two years ago while blocking on a meaningless extra point when they were up by 30 in a late season game, and it might've cost them a Super Bowl that year. Brady was lucky he didn't tear a knee on that last throw when he got hit low.

The real question is: Were the footballs deflated?

  4. Q#1 - Blount is not as good as he looked yesterday.

Q#2 - Late in Q4 with the Pats up 45 - 7, Brady dropped back and threw it deep. Someone rolled up on his legs and came very close to a serious leg injury. I would have laughed at Bellichick if that happened. Not that I want to see an injury but agree leaving Brady in was really dumb.

    Go Seahawks!

I wonder if that had anything to do with those refs switching balls. Can't recall when it happened, but the pats had the ball after a punt or kickoff. And the refs were milling around, doing something, keeping the game from proceeding. Then they put down the ball. Then they stopped the game again before the play could start and put a new one out.

Man, if this story turns out to be true, everybody in America will be rooting for Seattle.

No. But the Colts balls were :)

  7. They use a different ball for kicking. The announcers claimed there was some sort of delay in switching from the kicking ball to the game ball but it seemed odd and they were clearly perplexed.

More evidence of the deflationary spiral that the gov't is warning about.

  9. Apparently the league has said that the balls were deflated. That's probably why Blount was able to slash the colts defense.

The procedure they have is ridiculous and rife with opportunities for manipulation. Each team keeps the balls its offense plays with. Why not just have one stash of balls and let the officials control them? And use the same balls for kicking.
