Trying to locate which prop firm purchased my automated trading system

  1. Hi,

I entered a business deal with another trader. We designed an automated trading system to trade the futures market. Without my knowledge he has now sold this idea to one of the big prop firms in Chicago or NYC and cut me out. I do not know any more details than this but would like to track down who purchased this and start court proceedings.

I hear that there is a board or forum at the CBOT where firms share information on technology they are buying, so that one person cannot sell the same idea to several of the funds and rip people off.

If anyone knows how I could start the process of tracking down this deal I would be most appreciative.

    Cheers,
    Craig

  2. if you can not find who he sold to, you may either sell to another bigger firm or start trading your self. is it an intraday strategy?

Shouldn’t you be suing your x-partner? He would be forced to disclose, no?

i’m not an expert but once you’ve shared your idea with your mate without and nda or patent or some other legal protection he can do with it as he pleases

No prop firm will discuss anything with you. As @trend2009 said, find a way to trade it yourself

  6. People are such a disappointment...I wish my Dog could trade. I am sorry to hear about your misfortune.

The first rule of automated trading is you don't talk about your automated trading rules.

  8. If I have a holy grail which can scale up, the first thing I would do is to open multiple broker accounts, and enter/exit using different accounts plus some random trades. I would trust any friends to disclose the rules
